Female athletes are up to 8x more likely to suffer an ACL injury than males. An injury to the ACL occurs when the ligament is overstretched or torn due to sudden change of direction, landing incorrectly, sudden stops, or direct contact with another player. Despite this, 70% of all ACL injuries occur without any physical contact. The cause is typically simple movements such as running, jumping, cutting, and landing improperly. Female muscle imbalances, lack of mobility in certain joints combined with hyper mobility in others is a recipe for this devastating injury.
Our comprehensive assessment helps identify the risk factors that your athlete may have at this point in their athletic career. We test mobility, strength, deceleration, balance both unilaterally and bi-laterally. After the assessment, you will receive a detailed breakdown of your athlete and suggestions to greatly reduce their chances of getting this devastating injury.
